Three terrorise couple

20/08/2008 12:24:00 PM
A SLEEPING couple was terrorised at Tuncurry on Friday night when three intruders broke into a Wharf St apartment and demanded money.

A 37-year-old man and his girlfriend were sleeping at the man’s apartment around 8.30pm when they were woken by a battering sound.

They looked up to see three men in the room.

All wore dark tracksuit pants and hooded jumpers, and the couple later told police one of the men was about 185cm tall with a thin build.

The other two were around 172cm tall with medium builds.

“The offenders demanded cash from the victims, and stole two mobile phones,” Manning Great Lakes Inspector Neil Stephens explained.

No cash was given to the intruders, who left immediately with the phones.

The couple then drove to the man’s mother’s house at Nabiac, where they called the police.

“Officers then arrived and met the victims at the unit with forensic officers,” Inspector Stephens said. Police are still looking for the three intruders.
